From Baden, Austria comes Otto Fuchs and the Rockin' The Joint show
Filled with 1950s Rock and Roll and Rockabilly.
For the 8th Rockin' The
Joint Show DJ Otto Fuchs sheds limelight onto some of the later
recordings by the first generation of Rock & Roll Stars. Inspiration
for this came by The Killer Jerry Lee Lewis. Who just released a brand
new album entitled Rock & Roll Time, at the age of 79 years young.
The songs span the period from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s right to
today. Some of the performers might have lacked the fame of their
heyday. But still had the talents needed to either make an impact on the
charts, or even revive the genres Rockabilly and Rock & Roll with
their recordings, or proof that they were seen as being in a
time-capsule, while they had emerged into great contemporary performers!

AL COOL DADDY SMITH WITH PART I OF A TRIBUTE TO
JOHN D. LOUDERMILK ON ROCK-IT RADIO SHOW #5100
John D. Loudermilk has
composed a great many songs over the course of his career. Some he
recorded himself while other songs he wrote were recorded by others.
Many of the songs recorded by artists other than John became huge
international hits and it is for this reason that he is probably better
known as a song writer than as a recording artist. Songs such as
Abilene, Waterloo, Angela Jones, Sittin In The Balcon, Tobacco Road as
well as many others all came from the pen of John D. Loudermilk. These
shows will feature not only his hits recorded by others but his
versions as well. Rare tunes he wrote and recorded but failed to hit
will also be heard.

| ============================================ REMEMBERING OFFSHORE PIRATE RADIO IN THE UNITED KINGDOM IN THE 60S. You can pretty safely debate that offshore pirate radio brought Rock and Roll to Great Britain in the 60s. Prior to that, The only radio outlet in the UK was the BBC. And only had a few hours a week of programming dedicated to the music the British youth were yearning for. So, along came Offshore broadcasting. Basically refitted cargo ships into a floating radio station - anchored just off the coast in International waters. Probably the most famous being Radio Caroline (named after Caroline Kennedy (JFK's daughter)). These stations played the Rock and Roll of the day. our on archives webpage. These shows are still available on CD and mailed to you within 24
hours of receiving payment.
To help search for older shows that you may be looking for you may want to check the Rock-it
Radio blog site. Old newsletters describing the shows and playlists
are archived there and there is a menu bar on the right side that breaks down every playlist

Rock-it Radio Program Webpage Reminder
Remember, if the show that you want to hear is getting close to the bottom
of the list of radio shows, you should tune in as soon as you can. These shows
to have a high audio quality require a lot of internet bandwidth and memory.
And currently we can only afford the
30
latest shows online here at Rock-it Radio.
So, when a new show is put online it knocks the oldest one off the Rock-it Radio
archives page. Usually a show will at least last 16 to 20 days, once it is placed in
the archives.
