MATT THE CAT AND THE JUKE IN THE BACK SHOW WITH
JUKEBOX 1945 ON ROCK-IT RADIO SHOW #5247

This week, the "JUKE IN THE BACK" brings the jukebox into the spotlight
as we journey back 70 years and dig on the top requested jukebox records
from the entire year of 1945.
This was a pivotal year for Rhythm and Blues Music as 1945 marked the
beginning of a new sound in Black Music. As the war raged on, many of the
African-American big bands found it hard to afford such large ensembles,
so they slimed down to rhythm combos. Around the same time, blues singers
were expanding their sound to go beyond just a guitar or piano
accompaniment. They began adding rhythm sections and thus, Rhythm and Blues
was born. 1945 marked the first year that this new style of music dominated
the Black Community and the juke joints they patronized.
1945 was a strong year for jump blues cats like Louis Jordan, Joe Turner
and Lionel Hampton. The blues cats faired well this year as Pvt. Cecil
Gant had one of the year's biggest hits with his self-penned, "I Wonder,"
which was also successfully covered by Roosevelt Sykes and Louis Armstrong.
Joe Liggins burst on the scene with "The Honeydripper," the biggest selling
record of the year and quite possibly the entire decade! Matt The Cat's
got a pocket full of nickels and he's ready to warm up the "Juke In The Back,"
so we can all dig that big beat jive of 1945!

SPAMMED TO DEATH!
Rockitradio.net e mails to cease on 15 March.

For years we would post our rockitradio.net e mails in
our newsletter at the end of each DJ.  Unfortunately,
the spam has gotten hold of us.  Myself included DJ's are
getting 100s of e mails a day, and it's not from listeners.
But various offers over the internet.  So effective on
15 March this coming Sunday.  We will be dropping all e mail
services of addresses with rockitradio.net.
If you wish to send us e mail still you can use the link
in our main webpage at:  http://www.rockitradio.net  and
click to the mailbox there to send our DJ's here at
Rock-it Radio.
HEY DINGO WHY THE NEWSLETTER SO LATE????

We apologise for taking so long to get this newsletter
off to you.  Seems like when I was working 2 jobs back
in California I could find much more time and getting
the newsletters out weekly.  Now that I am semi retired
and ranching here in North Idaho -- Time is a lot less
available... Spring is birthing time and it has started
early here along with all the chores.  Also, last week
I had a MRI done on my back and trying to get a handle
on the pain in the posterior here.  What was causing the
Sciatica that is barely bearable at times....  Found out
have a herniated disc on my last disc right above the
tailbone.  It has cut a lot of my time able to spend
sitting - and computer work incl. newsletters.  But
next week we are hoping for a epideral that will hopefully
help the situation.  And we can get on a more regular
schedule.
DJ OF THE YEAR!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS TO ROCK-IT RADIO DJ ROCKIN'
DADDY O
2014 DJ OF THE YEAR!!!

Since 2007 here at Rock-it Radio we have been
tabulating those compliments and kudos and facebook

end of the year we add them all up.  Whoever gets the
most of the above makes it to Rock-it Radio DJ of the
year.
Well the 2014 winner goes to Ken Abruzzi.  On the

HOW TO ORDER OLD ROCK-IT RADIO SHOWS = YOUR PURCHASES HELP US STAY ONLINE!!!

We have received many inquiries on how to order Rock-it Radio shows that  are no longer in
our on archives webpage.  These shows are still available on CD and mailed to you within 24
hours of receiving payment.
To help search for older shows that you may be looking for you may want to check the Rock-it
Radio blog site.  Old newsletters describing the shows and playlists
are archived there and there is a menu bar on the right side that breaks down every playlist
by month.  This website is:  http://rock-itradio.blogspot.com

Then you may either pay by check or money order or paypal.  Rock-it Radio shows are only
$9.50 U.S. each and are studio quality broadcasts that were placed on Compact Disc here at
the Rock-it Radio Studio.  We have a flat rate  shipping charge of $1.50 U.S. so if you order
one or several -- it is still only $1.50
U.S. shipping.  And we ship worldwide, overseas orders are mailed out first class airmail.
Instructions where to send payment is at our webpage:

If you are a member of paypal (http://www.paypal.com) you can e mail directly
and let me know via e mail  (rockitradio@netzero.net) what shows you would
like we can send you a paypal invoice within 24 hours.

When you order a Rock-it Radio show or shop at our Rock-it Radio Launching Pad you
help keep these oldies alive and help us pay the bills here at Rock-it Radio.
And at the same time -- you are not getting nothing for your donation,  but actually
some of the shows and memories we hope we keep alive here at Rock-it Radio.

Rockabilly bands looking for airplay

Come tune into  the World on your computer!

1000s of stations around the world now broadcast online.  We have a
link to some of the internet top directories to help you find these stations.
http://www.rockitradio.net/internetradio.html

============================================
Rock-it Radio Program Webpage Reminder

Remember, if the show that you want to hear is getting close to the bottom
of the list of radio shows, you should tune in as soon as you can. These shows
to have a high audio quality require a lot of internet bandwidth and memory.
And currently we can only afford the
30
latest shows online here at Rock-it Radio.

So, when a new show is put online it knocks the oldest one off the Rock-it Radio
archives page.  Usually a show will at least last 16 to 20 days, once it is placed in
the archives.

============================================
OUR SISTER STATION FIRST NATIONS BROADCASTING.

We invite you to also check out our sister station -- First Nations
Broadcasting. And tune into the rather Cool North of the Yukon and Alaska
with our very own Debbie Snowdove!

============================================
Well that is just about it for this newsletter and playlists of our latest
shows. We hope that you enjoy them.
We will do our best to keep these shows on for at least 14
days and hopefully 21 days.
All the best always,
Bennie Dingo
