to admit I am a bit of a Olympics Nut so I had to get the last
day of the Olympics yesterday and by the time it was over
well too late to start the newsletter.  But we are here now with
8 new shows this past week and will have the results of the
East vs. West Coast Battle from last month, along with other
items.  Oh and don't miss Pete Chaston's Doo Wop Show

Many of you that grew up in California in the early and mid 60s will
remember a new sound and musical style known as 'Boss Radio'  and
was the thought and programming style of Bill Drake.  The stations
that aired the Boss Radio format of the mid 60s were KHJ in
Los Angeles; KYNO in Fresno; KMEN in San Bernardino and
KSDN in Stockton, California.  In this show Mel interviews and plays
and relives those times with a special interview with Boss Jock
Robert E. Walker a/k/a Bob Walker on show #4228 this week on

14th ANNUAL EAST COAST VS. WEST COAST BATTLE
RESULTS

The West has taken the crown in the fourteenth annual East West
music showdown. The west coast songs selected by Lane Quigley
of the Memory Lane Show took seven rounds while the east coast
songs served up by the Retro Show's Bill Green captured five.
The West is now seven annual wins to the East's six. There was one tie.

Thanks to all for voting. Five lucky voters will be selected at
