AL COOL DADDY SMITH PT.3 TRIBUTE TO CHUCK BERRY
ON ROCK-IT RADIO SHOW #6060

This show will deal with the two years 1965-1966 that
show the unfortunate fact that Chuck's hit making days
are all but over. It is here that we clearly realize
that his recordings  from his first decade from 1955
to 1964 is where his importance lies. Beyond those years
he continues to record and indeed will have one more hit
in 1972( a number one in fact which in itself is disappointing
given all the great work he did prior that time) with the double
entendre tune "My Ding a Ling".  That success however is the
"exception that proves the rule".
These two years saw him record two albums and a few singles.
Both LP's will be sampled as well as some of  the singles he
recorded. The singles either did not chart or if they did at all
were in the high numbers on such listings as The Bill Board Hot 100.
One recording will be played from 1967 to introduce the listener
to the next show which will be "Chuck Berry The Mercury Years".

The Play List is as follows:

1. Butterscotch-Chuck Berry  1965
2. Right Off Rampart Street-Chuck Berry  1965
3. My Little Love Light-Chuck Berry  1965
4. She Once Was Mine-Chuck Berry   1965
5. After It's Over-Chuck Berry   1965
6. I Got A Booking-Chuck Berry  1965
7. His Daughter Caroline-Chuck Berry  1965
8. Dear Dad-Chuck Berry   1965

10. St. Louis Blues-Chuck Berry  1965
11. It Wasn't Me-Chuck Berry  1965
12. Jamaica Farewell-Chuck Berry  1965

MATT THE CAT & THE JUKE IN THE BACK SHOW WITH Pt. 2
TRIBUTE TO BO DIDDLEY ON ROCK-IT SHOW #6061

Last Show, the "Juke In The Back" featured every recording made
by the innovative BO DIDDLEY during the year 1955. This time, the
Juke picks it up in early 1956 and showcases BO DIDDLEY's influential
and diverse releases through 1959. He remained mostly off the R&B
Charts during this period. That's inexplicable, since many of the
singles issued by Checker Records became R&B, Rock n' Roll and Blues
standards. Many Blues greats have recorded and interpreted Bo's
"Before You Accuse Me (Take A Look At Yourself)" and countless
garage bands have taken a crack at "Who Do You Love."
Matt The Cat also highlights the previously unreleased original
recording of "Love Is Strange," recorded almost a whole year before
Mickey & Silvia made it a #1 R&B smash. Why didn't Checker ever
issue Bo's original? We close the program with Bo Diddley returning
to the R&B and Pop Charts in 1959 with the doo wop ballad, "I'm Sorry,"
the Latin-tinged "I'm Crackin' Up" and the signifying "Say Man,"
which would become BO DIDDLEY's biggest selling record. Don't miss
BO DIDDLEY: 1956-59 on this week's "Juke In The Back."

1. Swanee River Boogie - Albert Ammons - Mercury 1947
2. Who Do You Love - Bo Diddley 1956
3. I'm Bad - Bo Diddley - Checker 1956
4. Love Is Strange - Bo Diddley - Previous Unreleased 1956
5. Cops & Robbers - Bo Diddley - Checker 1956
6. Hey! Bo Diddley - Checker 1957
7. Mona - Bo Diddley - Checker 1957
8. Say Boss Man - Bo Diddley - Checker 1957
9. Before You Accuse Me (Take A Look At Yourself)- Bo Diddley - Checker 1957
10. Hush Your Mouth - Bo Diddley - Checker 1958 - Checker 896
11. Dearest Darling - Bo Diddley - Checker 1958
12. Willie & Lillie - Bo Diddley - Checker 1958

OTTO FUCHS ROCKIN THE JOINT SHOW FROM BADEN, AUSTRIA
WITH A TRIBUTE TO JAYNE MANSFIELD ON ROCK-IT RADIO SHOW #6068

DJ Otto Fuchs & The Rockin´ The Juke Joint Show #4 - A Tribute
To The Girl Who Can´t Help It - Jayne Mansfield"
It was the mid-1950s, like every record company was searching for

to Marilyn were Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren. Marilyn Monroe,
Jayne Mansfield and Mamie Van Doren - the three M´s. Ironicially
it was Monroe´s own studio 20th Century Fox", that was looking
for an answer, when Marilyn was trying to be taken as a serious

to making European pictures, that weren´t even released in the US.
She did however be Pin Up of The Year" in the mid-1950s, and undressed

BILLY VERA'S ROCK AND ROLL PARTY SHOW CHRISTMAS
SPECIAL ON ROCK-IT RADIO SHOW #6070

This show from 1989 features an in-studio visit from the Robins,
one of LA's earliest vocal groups, along with H.B. Barnum, who
worked with the Robins and later wound up as one of the city's
top arrangers, conducting for Aretha Franklin, Lou Rawls and others.
Barnum discusses co-writing the rock'n'roll standard, "Peanut Butter."
The conversation includes memories of the group's career. In 1989 they
were still working oldies shows. Billy and the guys discuss their
formation and first recordings with Johnny Otis and their middle
period recording for Leiber & Stoller, just before the Robins evolved
into the Coasters.

These interviews conducted when the entertainers were still among us
are valuable and always interesting. Performers tend to open up more
to a fellow performer. You won't want to miss this one.

2. Double Crossing Blues - Johnny Otis Orchestra featuring Little Esther & The Robins
3. Around About Midnight - The Robins

DECLINING SALES CAUSES S.O.S. SAVE OUR STATION

Last newsletter we reported how October was the
worse sales record for Rock-it History.  Well looks
like November might be worse.  And if that is the case.
To survive we will have to make some drastic changes.
We plan to anyways.  We found the main culprit is Ebay.
Ebay is our #1 expense the listings of our shows costs over
$1000 a month.  And they have in the last couple of months
changed their format to where you have to look for the
full description of our items.  It has severely compramised
our ability to be found on Ebay by new buyers and sales are
down there by 80%.  We will probably be cutting our listings
in the Ebay store if they don't improve this month.
It now brings the daunting task of having our playlists of our
vintage broadcasts put into a website .... all 600+ of them!
And we would solely be selling our shows from our online store.
Other cuts would include advertising on Google Adwords and
this newsletter would probably be put in a new google group in
lieu of e mail and we would notify you through our facebook page
of Rock-it Radio when a new newsletter is out.  We will notify you
in another newsletter before these actions take place.

TRIAL RUN FOR ROCK-IT RADIO LISTENER'S ONLY
VINTAGE BROADCASTS ON FLASHDRIVE

It's hard to believe but we realize that perhaps our
declining sales is due to Compact Discs are a
aging medium.  And Flashdrives And digital is where it's
at.  So, I am going to make this offer just on a trial
basis for the remainder of 2017.  If you would prefer to
have Rock-it Radio shows and vintage radio shows that we
offer for sale on Flashdrive in mp3 format rather then
on CD we can provide that service here at Rock-it Radio.
Here it is how it works:

1.  E mail me at rockitradio@netzero.net and let me
know what shows you would like to have on Flashdrive.
Let's make it a minimum of 3 broadcasts.  Either any
Rock-it Radio show .... or Vintage Radio Show from the
50s through 70s that we offer at:
http://www.rockitradio.net/store.html

2.  The Cost:  Flashdrive will cost $5.00 and each show
that you wish to have will cost $5.00 - nearly 50% CHEAPER then on
CD.

3.  I will send you back a invoice within a couple of days, It will be
sent via paypal and it is not obligatory.  If you change your mind
just don't pay.  But it is easy to pay with any major credit card.

4.  Please allow up to 7 days for me to fill the order.  Once payment
is sent.  In case I get swamped with this offer.  Probably sooner.
I have to redigitalize all sold shows into MP3 and that takes a little
bit of time.  All orders will have $3.00 postage a slight increase but
that is due to it is shipped as a package and not envelope since it will
be over a 1/4" thick.

For example you order:  3 of our Alan Freed Radio shows.  And a Real Don
Steele show.  A total of 4 shows - That would normally be a cost of $40.00
on CD.  All together on one flashdrive so the invoice would look like

- Flashdrive $5.00
- Four Shows on Flashdrive @ $5.00 each - $20.00
- shipping $3.00

Total:  $28.00

Of course if you order more shows on the flashdrive you would continue saving
as you are paying the $5.00 per show rather then $9.50.

And of course we will be adding the monthly giveaway as well.

So for a invoice again just e mail me your wants on your flashdrive for
shows on mp3 at:  rockitradio@netzero.net

Also, check out this offer again at:
http://www.rockitradio.net/flashdrivemp3.html
REAL MEDIA FOR ROCK-IT RADIO TO END ON
DECEMBER 31, 2017

Several months back we did a survey of who would
be affected if Rock-it Radio stopped their streaming
in Real Media.  It was a major audio and musical streaming
program we had at the beginning of Rock-it Radio in the
Mid 90s and have continued.  But no one ever replied to
our answer.  So effective 12/31/2017 we will only be streaming
our shows online in glorious mp3.  It will simplify the
look of our program page and save time in production.

DOMESTIC ORDERS FOR ROCK-IT RADIO SAVE 25% BY USING YOUR
COUPON!!

Every order Rock-it Radio receives for a vintage Radio Broadcast or a Rock-it
Radio Show or Flashdrive.  We include a Catalog along with a coupon that allows
you to get 4 CD's for the price of 3.  25% savings.  It isn't used much though and
we are wondering why.  It does have to be by mail order and their is a order sheet
in the back of the catalog.  We pass the savings along as we are charged less from
Ebay and Paypal when we get our orders in through the Catalog.  As they don't take
out their portions they charge.    So if you like to purchase more from Rock-it Radio
think about doing the old fashioned way afterall we are a old fashiioned station and
it might take 3 or 4 days more but you will be saving money through the coupon.
Our apologies we can't do this for overseas orders but we are already taking a huge
hit on postage that we also have to absorb mailing overseas.

CELL PHONE APP FOR ROCK-IT RADIO ???

With the advent of iphones and smartphones and tablets
and all ... We are attempting to keep 50s and 60s rock and

to listen to Rock-it Radio.  We will report the progress
of this in the next newsletter where we hope to be up and
able to download in Play Google and the Apple Store.
In the mean time you can still listen to Rock-it Radio on
your phones thru the Tune in Radio App - which information

RECRUITING FOR RADIO PERSONALITIES FOR

Do you know your 50s and 60s Rock & Roll, Doo wop
or Rockabilly?  And the ability to produce a show
on CD?
We do require a playlist for this newsletter but
your show will stay online for the world for approx.
3 weeks.  Unlike some stations where you broadcast one
time and it's gone forever.
If interested check out our Rock-it Radio Team page

We are also looking for writers and translators!

COLLECTING AIRCHECKS - A HOBBY OF RADIO NOSTALGIA

Rock-it Radio Wolfman Page at:
REMEMBERING OFFSHORE PIRATE RADIO IN THE UK

In the mid 1960s  it was difficult for the youth to actually listen to Rock and Roll in the UK.
The BBC actually ran only a few hours a weekend to provide the young Brits with this outlet.
At night during the week they ventured to even tune into Radio Luxembourg to get there fill,
that broadcast rock and pop around the clock.
To fill this void some venture capitalists decided to bring in commercial radio aboard refitted
radio ships.  And anchor themselves just  off into International waters off the English coast.
Radio Caroline (named after Caroline Kennedy the U.S. President's daughter at the time)
and  Radio London being the most famous.  Rock-it Radio  has a website dedicated to their ventures
and also have actual radio broadcasts available of
these offshore pirates.
We invite you to check them out our webpage at:
http://www.rockitradio.net/pirate.html
FINDING ROCK-IT RADIO ON THE 'TUNE IN RADIO' CELL PHONE APP.

will actually list 100s of Rock stations.
So, the best way to find us on this very thorough and extensive app. that
I love using myself is -
run a search on 'rockabilly' - there you will easily find
Rock-it Radio listed.

HOW TO ORDER OLD ROCK-IT RADIO SHOWS = YOUR PURCHASES HELP US STAY ONLINE!!!

We have received many inquiries on how to order Rock-it Radio shows that  are no longer in
our on archives webpage.  These shows are still available on CD and mailed to you within 24
hours of receiving payment.
To help search for older shows that you may be looking for you may want to check the Rock-it
Radio blog site.  Old newsletters describing the shows and playlists
are archived there and there is a menu bar on the right side that breaks down every playlist
by month.  This website is:  http://rock-itradio.blogspot.com

Then you may either pay by check or money order or paypal.  Rock-it Radio shows are only
$9.50 U.S. each and are studio quality broadcasts that were placed on Compact Disc here at
the Rock-it Radio Studio.  We have a flat rate  shipping charge of $1.50 U.S. so if you order
one or several -- it is still only $1.50
U.S. shipping.  And we ship worldwide, overseas orders are mailed out first class airmail.
Instructions where to send payment is at our webpage:

like we can send you a paypal invoice within 24 hours.

When you order a Rock-it Radio show or shop at our Rock-it Radio Launching Pad you
help keep these oldies alive and help us pay the bills here at Rock-it Radio.
And at the same time -- you are not getting nothing for your donation,  but actually

============================================
Come tune into  the World on your computer!

1000s of stations around the world now broadcast online.  We have a
link to some of the internet top directories to help you find these stations.

============================================
Rock-it Radio Program Webpage Reminder

Remember, if the show that you want to hear is getting close to the bottom
of the list of radio shows, you should tune in as soon as you can. These shows
to have a high audio quality require a lot of internet bandwidth and memory.
And currently we can only afford the
30
latest shows online here at Rock-it Radio.

So, when a new show is put online it knocks the oldest one off the Rock-it Radio
archives page.  Usually a show will at least last 16 to 20 days, once it is placed in
the archives.

============================================
OUR SISTER STATION FIRST NATIONS BROADCASTING.

We invite you to also check out our sister station -- First Nations
Broadcasting. And tune into the rather Cool North of the Yukon and Alaska
with our very own Debbie Snowdove!

============================================
Well that is just about it for this newsletter and playlists of our latest
shows. We hope that you enjoy them.
We will do our best to keep these shows on for at least 14
days and hopefully 21 days.
All the best always,
Bennie Dingo
